Hey Pensacola, it’s Chef Josh here! Now that Mardi Gras is behind us, it's time to focus on Springtime! It's March, which means that we're going to start seeing some really great spring produce. The waters here in the Gulf are teeming with fish and what a great time for that because lent is also here! With that said, I'm beginning this Friday, March 6th with our new Fresh Fish Fridays! Every Friday during the Season of Lent, The District is offering a wonderful seafood special that will pair perfectly with our amazing wine selection. It's going to really highlight fresh local seafood such as Cobia, Tripletail and Grouper, to name a few. We will also be featuring Soft Shell Crabs and of course, Crawfish. 

I am super excited for all of the delicious spring produce as well! We will have some lovely Ramps, Fiddlehead Ferns and Morels. Morel mushrooms were very popular last year, so we will for sure be getting more of those in throughout the springtime! We are sort of in the “doldrums” for produce and seafood at this time, so be sure to stop by and have a taste for yourself!

March weather is fantastic! Don’t forget about our upstairs balcony overlooking Downtown Pensacola - it’s the perfect hot spot to enjoy a fabulous glass of sparkling rose and shrimp cocktail appetizer before your dinner reservation. Or if you’re more in the mood for an after dinner night cap, try a nice cognac whiskey and decadent dessert as well!
